The prize is awarded by the IEEE Communications Society, which brings together tens of thousands of scientists, professionals and experts in the field of communications engineering and computer networks, to the scientific article, among those published in the last 15 years, which has opened new lines of research, provides innovative approaches to communication, and formulates new problems to be solved, broadening the field of communications engineering. The award-winning article, written together with four other Italian scientists, is entitled "Quantum Internet: Networking Challenges in Distributed Quantum Computing" and opened the line of research dedicated to the design and engineering development of the Quantum Internet.
The award will be received during the IEEE ICC 2024 Award Ceremony, the flagship conference of the IEEE Communications Society to be held in Denver on June 10, 2024.
