THIRD MISSION

The Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies (DIETI) at the University of Naples Federico II has established a Third Mission Commission with the aim of supporting and strengthening the University's role as an active player in local development. The Third Mission encompasses a set of initiatives and activities aimed at promoting cultural, economic, and social growth through structured dialogue with the business community, public administrations, and society as a whole.

This function complements the university's traditional missions—teaching and research—by contributing to a broader cultural project based on the co-creation of knowledge and the valorization of knowledge for the benefit of the community.

In this context, the Commission works to foster collaboration, technology transfer, and the dissemination of scientific results, encouraging public engagement, training, and innovation initiatives capable of generating social and civic value. The DIETI promotes the Third Mission as a meeting place between the university and the local community, mobilizing expertise and connecting various stakeholders to meet societal needs.

The Commission is composed of:

Professor Giovanni Breglio, DIETI delegate for the Third Mission
Professor Silvia Rossi
Professor Alessi Botta
Professor Nicola Pasquino
Eng. Vincenzo Vecchio
