Memorandum of understanding between Federico II University and Marscenter

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding for space research was held on Wednesday 28 September, 11.00 am at the headquarters of the Technological Pole of the Fabbrica dell'In Tecnologia, via E. Gianturco 31.

The Memorandum of Understanding between the space company Marscenter and the University of Naples Federico II, with the Departments of Agriculture, Biology, Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies DIETI, with prof. Bruno Siciliano for an activity to support the robotization of automatic micro-computers for multiple experiments, aims to launch joint activities between the signatories of space scientific research in conditions of microgravity in different areas.

The event was attended by representatives from the world of institutions, research and industry in the sector including: Giovanna Aronne, full professor of environmental and applied botany, department of agriculture - University of Naples Federico II; Luigi Carrino, president of the aerospace district of Campania; Mario Cosmo, science and research director of the Italian space agency [in video call]; Geppino De Falco, full professor of applied biology, department of biology - University of Naples Federico II; Mariafelicia De Laurentis, astrophysicist, deputy project scientist of event horizon telescope; Annalisa De Simone, manager of UOD innovative startups and digital economy in the Campania region; Barbara Majello, full professor of genetics, department of biology - University of Naples Federico II; Giuseppe Morsillo, president of Marscenter; Bruno Siciliano, full professor of automation, department of electrical engineering and information technologies - Federico II University of Naples; Giovanni Squame, president of Ali.

Marscenter Srl - Microgravity advanced research and support center, founded in 1988 by an intuition of professors Luigi Gerardo Napolitano and Rodolfo Monti, was the most advanced research center in Italy and, among the first in Europe, in space operations on scientific payloads and technological and in the research of the physics of fluids in conditions of microgravity.
