Plasma Control System coordination of the Divertor Tokamak Test Facility

 

Professor Roberto Ambrosino has been appointed National Coordinator of the Plasma Control System (PCS) for the DTT (Divertor Tokamak Test) project.

The DTT machine project is part of the European EUROfusion program to study alternative solutions to the problem of thermal loads on components in contact with plasma (https://www.dtt-project.it).

The project, which is worth approximately 600 million euros, will be carried out thanks to the financial contribution of the ministries of Economic Development and of the University and Research, the Lazio Region, Enea and the other partners of the consortium, in addition to the loan of 250 million euros. euro put on track by the European Investment Bank (EIB) as part of the Efsi funds (Juncker plan).

The DTT machine will be located within a state-of-the-art scientific and technological center, open to researchers and scientists from all over the world, at the ENEA center in Frascati. The DTT is currently in the planning stage and expects to be operational by 2026.
