The robotics group PRISMA Lab, partner of the CREATE Research Consortium, is part of euROBIN, the newly created European network of excellence that brings together the main research centers with expertise in robotics and artificial intelligence.
Through the euROBIN network, knowledge on robotics based on artificial intelligence "AI-Based Robotics" will be systemized to bring benefits to research, industry and society, while promoting European values and favoring the transfer of knowledge between research centers and industrial partners.
euROBIN includes 31 partners from 14 countries and has been active since 1 July. The network is coordinated by the Center for Robotics and Mechatronics of the German Space Agency (DLR) and includes both high-profile research centers and leading industrial partners in all sectors. The network received a total of € 12.5 million from the EU and Switzerland following a 2021 call for Horizon Europe, the European Union's Framework Program for Research and Innovation for the period 2021-2027.
Professor Bruno Siciliano, coordinator of the PRISMA Lab and head of the local unit of the project underlines: "euROBIN comes at a crucial moment in the development of European robotics with the spread of interaction technologies (IAT), which are favoring the natural passage from digital twin to fiscal twin, thanks to the integration of the most advanced AI techniques in robotic systems ".
