The Laboratory of Projects of Industrial and Service Robotics, Mechatronics and Automation – PRISMA Lab – has obtained an important European funding for innovative training and mobility of young researchers in the framework of Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions.

In particular, with the Innovative Training Networks action the objective is to train a new generation of creative, entrepreneurial and innovative researchers, able to face current and future challenges to convert knowledge and ideas into products and services with economic and social benefits. The initiative is part of Horizon 2020, the European Research and Innovation Programme, and is part of Pillar 1 Excellent Science, which aims to strengthen the EU's scientific excellence and consolidate the European Research Area to improve its competitiveness on a global scale.

From PRISMA Lab, professor Vincenzo Lippiello —leader of the local team— with assistant professor Fabio Ruggiero, about the funded project " AErial Robotic Training for the next generation of European infrastructure and asset maintenance technologies " (AERO-TRAIN), underlines the value of the grant in view of the fact that "less than 1% of the proposals are funded in these calls. Yet another successful result of the research carried out since 10 years in the field of aerial robotics at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology of University Federico II, which follows the 6 FP7 and H2020 projects already funded on this line of research, thanks to the collaboration with CREATE Consortium and more recently with CeSMA, which hosts the flight arena of the team".
